Meet the Captain

With over 300 years of maritime history in his family, Captain Charles Jennings proudly calls the San Francisco Bay his home and office. Captain Jennings has served on many vessels in varying capacities from First Officer on the Hornblower vessels to a tugboat engineer with Starlight Marine & Baydelta Maritime. The highlight of his carrier thus far has been his service to the WWII Liberty Ship SS Jeremiah O’Brien during the vessel’s 50^th anniversary return to Normandy in 1994. With tales of adventure and intrigue, he is always ready to share local history and share in his love of one the world’s most beautiful bays.

Welcome to Bay Voyager. We look forward to hosting you on a voyage exploring one of America’s largest and most beautiful inland bays. Your trip will be filled with historic landmarks and ecological sights and sounds of this memorable locale.

Bay Voyager offers an unforgettable personal experience. With seating for twelve passengers, Bay Voyager tours provide great access to the less traveled parts of the San Francisco Bay and a more individualized experience.

A snapshot of your Bay Voyager tour may include history and stories of the San Francisco Bay while you observe the former mooring sites of abandoned gold rush ships or active estuaries populated by cargo ships and tug boats. While we do have a specific route on our tours, deviation is an essential part of the Bay Voyager experience.

At Bay Voyager we strive to offer an engaging and exhilarating experience, and, to that end, you will be riding on the same type of vessel NAVY SEALS use in their operations. Bay Voyager is the first and only large passenger RIB (rigid inflatable boat) in the San Francisco Bay, and one of only a small number of RIB vessels on the West Coast of the Americas. Extremely safe, stable, and comfortable, Bay Voyager has your enjoyment in mind.
